Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland in Rockhampton is seeking a Gambling Help Counsellor & Educator to support clients affected by gambling issues. The role focuses on empathetic counselling for individuals, couples and families, while promoting awareness in the community.

You will work within the FaDS team to address addiction, trauma, and related social challenges, delivering education and developing outreach programs for targeted groups and the wider community.

Qualifications

• Hold a minimum of a Diploma in Counselling or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience working in a counselling environment.
• Demonstrated experience, and knowledge of therapeutic work with addiction, specifically gambling.
• Experience in developing and delivering education and awareness programs.
• Demonstrated case management skills with a focus on outcomes, data and practice improvement.
• Knowledge of strength-based interventions in trauma/addiction counselling, or ability to acquire.
• Experience in group facilitation and community education, or ability to acquire.
• Current Drivers Licence
• Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
