Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland is seeking a part-time Gambling Help Community Educator in Cairns to design and deliver education programs focused on safe gambling and harm minimisation. You will lead workshops, build community partnerships and collect program data to show outcomes.

The role requires a Certificate IV in Community Services or equivalent, strong training experience, and the ability to travel within communities across Queensland. A current WWCC and driver’s licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Certificate Level IV in Community Services or equivalent qualification.
• Experience developing and delivering training, education or community engagement programs.
• Demonstrated case management skills with a focus on outcomes, data and practice improvement.
• Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in a mobile, community-based environment.
• Sound analytical, organisational and time management skills.
• Current Driver's Licence and willingness to travel to meet community needs.
• Current Working with Children Check (Blue Check).
• ASIST training or willingness to complete the training.

Your part in our UnitingCare teamThe Gambling Help Service provides counselling and support to individuals, couples and families experiencing gambling-related harmAs a Gambling Help Community Educator, you'll play a vital role working with clients and the community to provide education and information, focusing on empowerment and resilience outcomes for the client, family and community wellbeing. You'll work across communities to deliver engaging training and awareness programs that promote safer gambling practices and strengthen wellbeing outcomes.

What you'll bring

• You’ll be an engaging communicator who enjoys connecting with people and empowering communities through education. A Certificate Level IV in Community Services or equivalent qualification.
• Experience developing and delivering training, education or community engagement programs.
• Demonstrated case management skills with a focus on outcomes, data and practice improvement.
• Strong relationship‑building and networking skills. The ability to work autonomously in a mobile, community‑based environment. Sound analytical, organisational and time management skills. Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications. A current Driver's Licence and willingness to travel to meet community needs. A current Working with Children Check (Blue Check).ASIST training or willingness to complete the training.
