Job summary

The York on Lilydale Hotel is seeking a Function Management Guru to lead and deliver exceptional events from planning through post-event follow-up. You will manage a diverse calendar including weddings, corporates, shows, and private functions, tailoring each client’s needs.

Job description

A day in the life of a Function Manager:

We’re on the hunt for a Function Managing Guru forThe York on Lilydale Hotel where functions and events bring our community together creating experiences everyone loves

• Lead end to end delivery of events, from planning and client consulting in a friendly manner, to execution and any post event follow ups
• Manage and coordinate a very diverse events calendar - weddings, corporates, shows, entertainment and private functions and individually manage each individual clients needs when building such events
• Manage payments, contract and event details
• Leading and developing functions team. Communicating the timeline running of the event in line with venues expectation. Being able to delegate roles amongst the team to help even work load with encouraging guidence
• Build and maintain strong client relation. Ensure an appropriate response time to all clients in met.
• Identify opportunities for growth in the business. Reaching out to existing clients, contributing to sale strategies and package offering, menu and upgrades
• Be a key part of the leadership crew, working closely with the Publican and Assistant Managers
• Share your passion, skills, and creativity to grow a high-performing function and events team
• Deliver exception functions and events with good vibes, great service and all those little extras going above and beyond

Inherent requirements:

• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• Ideally experienced or share an interest or passion in eventing
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Passion in presentation and delivering outstandign events
• Ability and confidence to manager multiple events and priorites
• Friendly, sociable and approachable manner
• Solution focused and independant thinking
