Job summary

Xpress Gourmet Pizza in Victoria’s Cowes is seeking a hands-on Cook to prepare, cook and finish pizzas and pasta dishes to house recipes. You’ll manage mise en place for service and help the team get orders out on time while maintaining high standards.

The role requires real Italian kitchen experience, comfort with dough and pasta cooking, and availability for evenings and weekends. A cookery trade and Australian work rights are required.

• Comfortable with dough, ovens and pasta to order.
• Evening and weekend availability is essential.
• A cookery trade is required and kitchen experience is essential.
• Right to work in Australia is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare dough, sauces, toppings and pasta components to recipe and daily volume.
• Stretch, top and bake pizzas to the required standard and size.
• Cook and plate pasta dishes and sides to ticket.
• Maintain food safety, temperature control and hygiene throughout prep and service.
• Restock the line, rotate stock and flag shortages before they become a problem.
• Clean equipment, benches and the cook area to kitchen standards at the end of service.
• Work with front-of-house and other kitchen staff so orders leave complete and on time.
• Follow opening and closing routines and any reasonable direction from the manager.
