Qualifications

• Requires AQF qualification in Hospitality or related field.
• Prior experience as a Cook is essential.
• Knowledge of cooking methods and use of kitchen equipment.
• Flexible to work full-time and on rotating rosters.

Responsibilities

• Monitor stock levels and estimate ingredient needs to minimise waste.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff for timely meal preparation and service.

Salary Range – $75,000 - $85,000

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect ingredients and food supplies to ensure freshness and quality.
• Prepare, season and cook dishes according to recipes and menu requirements.
• Wash, cut, portion and prepare ingredients for cooking.
• Operate and regulate commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills and fryers.
• Monitor cooking times, temperatures, flavour and presentation to maintain food quality.
• Portion, plate and garnish meals according to established standards.
• Prepare meals to meet special dietary requirements and follow allergen-handling procedures.
• Store food safely and maintain appropriate refrigeration and storage temperatures.
• Monitor stock levels, estimate ingredient requirements and minimise food wastage.
• Assist with menu preparation and ingredient selection.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and comply with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and service of meals.

Skills and Qualifications

• AQF associate degree, Certificate II, Certificate IV, or Diploma certification in relevant Hospitality qualification.
• Prior Experience as a Cook.
• Strong Knowledge of Cooking Methods and operating kitchen tools and equipment
• Ability to work Full Time
• Flexible to work on a rotating roster.
