Job summary

Mr Belson Pty Ltd in Yungaburra on the Atherton Tablelands is seeking a full-time Lead Barista to manage our busy coffee station. You will deliver high-quality specialty coffees, train junior staff, and ensure fast service during peak times.

You must have at least 2 years of barista experience, RSA and food hygiene cert, and be skilled in latte art, espresso dialing-in, and equipment troubleshooting to maintain top standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years as Barista in a busy café/restaurant.
• RSA and food hygiene certifications (or willing to obtain).
• Latte art, espresso dialing-in, speed of service, and equipment troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve high-volume specialty coffees, teas, and hot/cold beverages.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain espresso machinery and grinders; adjust grind and milk texture.
• Manage inventory, coffee bean stock rotation, and reordering supplies.
• Greet customers, take orders via POS, and process payments.
• Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards.
• Train junior front-of-house staff on coffee standards and service protocols.

Job Description

Mr belson pty ltd We are seeking an experienced and passionate Full-Time Barista to manage and lead our coffee station operations. As a lead barista, you will be responsible for consistently delivering high-quality specialty coffee, maintaining efficiency during peak service times, and ensuring exceptional customer experiences.

Key Duties & Responsibilities Preparing and serving a high volume of specialty coffees, teas, and hot/cold beverages to a high standard. Operating, calibrating, and maintaining commercial espresso machinery and grinders (including grind adjustment and milk texturing). Managing inventory, coffee bean stock rotation, and reordering supplies as required.

Greeting customers, taking orders accurately via the POS system, and processing payments. Maintaining immaculate hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards across the coffee bar area. Training and guiding junior front-of-house staff on coffee standards and customer service protocols.

Required Skills & Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience as a Barista in a busy café or restaurant environment. Certifications: Valid Statement of Attainment of an RSA and food hygiene certification (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement). Technical Proficiency: Proven skill in latte art, dialing-in espresso, speed of service, and espresso equipment troubleshooting.

Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong time management, and ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
