Corrections Victoria is seeking an Aboriginal Case Manager for the South Morang and Reservoir offices in Melbourne's northern metro. This ongoing, full-time role involves managing court-ordered clients and delivering culturally sensitive support to reduce reoffending.

You will assess risk, develop case plans, provide interventions, and collaborate with Aboriginal justice networks. A priority is supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients while engaging with the Koori Court.

Qualifications

• Communicate sensitively with the Victorian Aboriginal Community.
• Engage with local support services and the Koori Court in case management.
• Understand the Victorian Aboriginal Community socially and culturally.
• Understand or have experience in effective case management and managing risk of complex individuals.
• Model pro-social behaviours and motivate individuals who are being case managed.
• Be assertive and confident in dealing with challenging behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Manage Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal clients on court orders.
• Conduct risk assessments and prepare case plans.
• Provide interventions and address underlying causes of offending.
• Deliver culturally sensitive support to help clients complete court orders.
• Develop and implement cultural support plans for Aboriginal clients.
• Collaborate with Aboriginal justice networks to identify needed support.
