Job summary

The Aboriginal Case Manager role at Department of Justice and Community Safety will oversee both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal clients on court orders, conducting risk assessments, preparing case plans, and delivering interventions to address underlying causes of offending.

Based across the South Morang and Reservoir CCS offices, the role involves working with Aboriginal justice networks to strengthen outcomes and may involve advising the Koori Court during sentencing.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate sensitively with the Victorian Aboriginal Community.
• Ability to engage with local support services and the Koori Court in case management.
• Understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal Community and related issues.
• Understanding of or experience in effective case management including risk management of complex individuals.
• Experience in modelling pro-social behaviours and influencing clients under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal clients on court orders with risk assessments and case plans.
• Provide interventions and address underlying causes of offending.
• Develop and implement cultural support plans for Aboriginal clients and collaborate with Aboriginal justice networks.
