Job summary

Halcyon Knights in Sydney is seeking a skilled software engineer to join the Advice Technology team, building features with Java on the backend and Angular on the frontend for the financial advice platform.

You will work in an Agile squad across new features, BAU enhancements and continuous improvement, delivering reliable, user-friendly applications for advisers and clients.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience building back-end applications in Java
• Strong commercial experience building single-page applications in Angular
• Solid grasp of object-oriented principles and full-stack development
• Experience with unit testing, test automation and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working in Agile delivery teams
• Clear communication and a collaborative, quality-first approach

Responsibilities

• Design, build and test back-end services and APIs in Java
• Develop responsive, user-friendly front-end features in Angular
• Deliver significant technical enhancements from design and analysis through to release
• Write unit and automated tests to keep code quality high
• Carry out root cause analysis and resolve production issues
• Contribute to discovery sessions, stand‑ups and other Agile ceremonies
• Follow and help improve team standards, practices and code reviews
