Job summary

LGT Group is seeking a hands-on Software Engineer (Full-stack) to join our Sydney/Melbourne team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will design, build, and maintain platform capabilities used across multiple teams, delivering scalable backend services and rich frontend experiences for internal tools.

You will work with Angular/React frontends and Java-based backends, leveraging Docker/Kubernetes in an enterprise CI/CD environment, and collaborating with security, risk, and governance

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience in full-stack software engineering across backend, frontend, and mobile development.
• Proven expertise in Java and Spring Boot, with strong experience building REST APIs and microservices.
• Solid mobile development capability using Swift and Kotlin.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL and/or Oracle.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift in enterprise environments.
• Experience with Git-based CI/CD pipelines, ideally GitLab, and build tooling such as Maven or Gradle.
• Strong understanding of automated testing practices and tools such as JUnit, Playwright, or similar.
• Exposure to monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, Grafana/Prometheus, Kibana/Elasticsearch, or equivalent.
• Good understanding of secure software development and modern authentication patterns such as OAuth2, OIDC, and JWT.
• Comfortable working in Agile delivery teams using tools such as Jira and Confluence

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain platform products and shared services.
• Build frontend experiences for internal platform applications and dashboards.
• Develop backend services, APIs, and automation components.
• Create reusable libraries, components, and standards to reduce duplication.
• Collaborate with architects to produce scalable and secure designs.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Champion testing practices and improve developer experience.
• Support observability, monitoring, and incident resolution across the stack.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and documentation efforts.
