Job summary

Mimiric is hiring engineers to join an ultra fast-paced team building enterprise-grade infrastructure for our software systems in Sydney. You’ll work with a small team on problems spanning finance, automation and large-scale data.

You’ll design and own end-to-end features, choosing to work across payments, automation, or a single domain with growth. Expect on-site collaboration five days in our North Sydney office.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience building scalable backend systems.
• Ability to connect business concepts to system design and code.
• Cloud experience, ideally GCP (Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, task queues), plus solid CI/CD.
• Strong TypeScript and strong Postgres with transactions and migrations.
• Solid grounding in system design and CS fundamentals.

Job description

Mimiric is looking for talented engineers to join an ultra fast-paced team building enterprise-grade infrastructure for our software systems. You’ll work closely with a small group of engineers on problems that range from finance to state-of-the-art automation to systems that can handle the real-world complexity of small businesses.

We sit on rich data and use it to make our products sharper every week. You’d be building across the stack: fintech features, automation that runs at scale, and AI woven into how the platform actually works. We ship an idea, see how it performs against real data, and iterate - we’re not working off a roadmap written a year ago. We value people who can spot business problems and creatively solve them.

What you’ll do

• Design, build and own cutting-edge features end to end, working directly with our internal teams
• Choose your path: work across domains with different teams (payments, automated systems, and more) or own a single domain and grow it organically - whichever suits your style
• Work on-site five days a week in our modern North Sydney office

What we’re looking for

• Roughly 3-6 years of experience building scalable backend systems
• A clear understanding of what makes a system work well, and the ability to connect business concepts to system design and code
• Cloud experience, ideally GCP (Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, task queues), plus solid CI/CD
• Strong TypeScript and strong Postgres - you can reason about transactions, migrations, row-level security and connection pooling, not just drive an ORM
• Sound web fundamentals (HTTP, auth, CORS, rate limiting) and enough React comfort to work across our frontends
• Experience with asynchronous systems in production: queues, retries, idempotency, webhooks, reconciliation
• Hands-on third‑party integration experience - payment, banking or messaging providers, their webhooks, sandboxes and failure modes
• Solid grounding in system design and core computer science (data structures, trees, networking, etc.)
