Job summary

Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) is seeking a Full Stack Developer for a 12-month contract within the SCASydney Technology team. You will design and ship full-stack applications and AI agent systems, spanning greenfield work and enterprise integrations, with a focus on expanding AI-assisted development.

You’ll collaborate with stakeholders, implement scalable solutions, and help drive adoption of AI tooling while integrating with Azure and enterprise platforms.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication with users to understand needs and shape solutions.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs beyond basic API use, including agentic systems and tool use.
• Experience integrating with enterprise platforms via APIs and webhooks.
• Bonus experience with media/broadcast, containerisation, RAG/vector databases, Azure automation, or open‑source AI tooling.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to understand workflows and shape practical solutions before coding.
• Design, build and deliver end-to-end full-stack applications and AI agent systems.
• Architect and implement AI agent systems and related infrastructure (auth, observability, guardrails, audit trails).
• Integrate solutions with enterprise platforms, sales systems, Azure-hosted services, and third-party SaaS via APIs/webhooks.
• Promote AI-assisted development and coach non-technical builders.

About the team

Join our SCASydney Technology team which is engineering arm of SCA. The Integration & Automation team delivers standalone tools used across the business and wires them into the enterprise systems that keep SCA running - making this role central to SCA's strategy of using technology and AI to operate more efficiently and innovate faster., where your success is at the heart of everything we do!

The purpose of the Full Stack Developer role is to design, build and ship full stack applications and AI agent systems within the Integration & Automation team in SCA Technology. The role spans greenfield product work and integrations into SCA's enterprise platforms, with a particular focus on extending the team's existing investment in AI-assisted development and agentic systems in production. This role is a 12-month contract position.

What does your day to day look like?

• Partner closely with business stakeholders and end users to understand workflows, identify high‑impact problems, and shape practical solutions before writing code.
• Design, build and deliver end‑to‑end full‑stack applications, covering frontend, backend, data models and deployment across both greenfield builds and enterprise integrations.
• Architect and implement AI agent systems, including tool use, memory, MCP servers, human‑in‑the‑loop workflows, evaluation frameworks, and the supporting infrastructure (auth, observability, guardrails and audit trails).
• Integrate solutions with broadcast and business platforms, including sales systems, Azure‑hosted services, and third‑party SaaS via APIs and webhooks.
• Champion AI‑assisted development as a core capability by coaching non‑technical builders, providing code review, and contributing to the team’s community of practice around effective and responsible AI use.

What you’ll need:

• Strong communicator who enjoys working directly with users to understand needs and shape solutions.
• Hands‑on experience building with LLMs beyond basic API use, including agentic systems, tool use, context management and failure handling.
• Experience integrating with enterprise platforms, including authentication flows, APIs and webhooks.
• Pragmatic and delivery‑focused, balancing discovery with rapid iteration; bonus experience in media/broadcast, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), RAG/vector databases, Azure automation, or open‑source AI tooling.
