Job summary

Healthcarelink Support seeks an experienced Nurse Educator with a perioperative focus to join a Penrith hospital team. In this full-time role, you will collaborate with the Education Manager, NUMs, Epworth Education Teams, and Perioperative Services Managers to advance staff development and patient care.

You will supervise post-graduate students, facilitate internal education programs, and provide support and clinical supervision to graduates, new staff and students across surgical specialties.

Qualifications

• Registered with AHPRA (essential).
• Post-graduate qualification in Perioperative nursing.
• Post-graduate or Masters in education desirable.
• Evidence of clinical education in perioperative settings.
• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  The hospital is located in the multi-cultural Western Sydney City of Penrith. It is a modern 109 bed facility providing a wide range of health services to the local community since 2000 including: orthopaedics, spinal, gynaecology, ENT, plastics, urology and general surgery, endoscopy, cardiology, cardiac angiography and obstetrics. The hospital has eight operating Theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheterisation theatre and an endoscopy suite, supported by a critical care unit which includes intensive care.

  • Hold post-graduate qualifications in Perioperative nursing
  
  
  • Be able to demonstrate current experience in clinical education in the perioperative environment.
  
  
  • Hold post-graduate or Masters qualification in education (desirable)
  
  
  • Have excellent written, verbal & presentation skills
  
  
  • Have a contemporary knowledge of best practice in nursing care
  
  
  • Be highly accountable and demonstrate a strong, supportive and engaging style
