Job summary

Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking experienced Registered Nurses for Perioperative Scrub Scout roles on a full-time basis at Rankin Park, NSW. You will support the perioperative team, deliver evidence-based nursing care, and supervise ENs and AINs to ensure high-quality patient care.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in scrub/perioperative nursing, AHPRA registration in good standing, and a valid NSW Working with Children check.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ RN experience in Scrub Scout / Perioperative Nursing.
• Current NSW Working with Children check.
• Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent.
• Current Registration with AHPRA (no restriction).
• Authority to Work in Australia.
• Compliance with ACQSHC National standards.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work in a high functioning team.

  We are currently seeking experienced Scrub Scouts Nurses to join the Perioperative Team on a full-time basis. You will play a key role within a supportive team in ensuring high levels of patient care are provided.

  As a Perioperative Scrub Scout Registered Nurse, your responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver safe, researched-based standards of nursing care
  • Supervise, direct and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) to deliver patient care
  • Deliver education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation or end of life needs
  • Led successful quality improvement and safety management project/s to deliver desired outcomes
  • Work collaboratively with the wider healthcare team to support patient care needs
  • Act as a role model for Safe Practice

  About the Company

  The hospital has a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility located at Rankin Park. It has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.
  They also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region. The Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.
