Job summary

JBS Riverina Plant is seeking an experienced Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) Officer to join as a full-time role reporting to the QA Manager. You will monitor, report, and rectify issues across product quality, hygiene and food safety at the Riverina Plant, ensuring production of a quality product.

The ideal candidate has prior FSQA or QA experience in the meat industry, AUS-Meat competency, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team in

Qualifications

• FSQA or QA experience in meat industry preferred.
• Must have AUS-Meat competency levels and statutory qualifications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic supervisory skills.
• Problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety.
• Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, report, and rectify product hygiene and food safety issues.

About the Role

JBS Riverina is currently recruiting an experienced Food Safety and Quality Assurance Officer (FSQA) Officer to join the team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the QA Manager, the FSQA Officer will play an integral role in monitoring, reporting, and rectifying issues within product, hygiene and food safety throughout the Plant and ensuring the production of a quality product.

About You

• Previous experience in a similar FSQA or QA role within the meat industry advantageous
• Successful completion of the required AUS-Meat levels of competency and any other qualifications required by statutory authorities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic supervisory skills
• Demonstrable problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety
• Demonstrated computer literacy specifically within Excel, Word and Outlook
• Exceptional ability to prioritise and multi-task

JBS Australia is the largest and most respected meat and food producer in Australia. Situated on 2,000ha, the JBS Riverina Plant is a part of the Riverina integrated farming, feedlot and processing operation. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress and transportation costs, while simultaneously improving eating quality – one of only two in the southern hemisphere. Based just outside Yanco, between the popular townships of Leeton and Narrandera in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation district (or Riverina region), our location ensures the ability to source high quality feeder cattle and grain to produce premium beef. The plant employs approximately 500 team members with a processing capacity of 600 head of cattle per day.
