Job summary

Charlco Pty Ltd in Dimbulah, QLD is seeking reliable and hardworking Fruit Farm Workers to support daily farming operations and harvest activities.

You will perform tasks across cultivation, maintenance, and harvesting of fruit crops, while adhering to safety and quality standards in outdoor conditions. The role is permanent full-time with an annual salary range of $76K–$86K.

Qualifications

  • Experience in fruit farming or horticulture preferred.
  • Physically able to perform demanding outdoor work.
  • Basic understanding of crop care, irrigation, and pest control practices.
  • Ability to operate farm machinery safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol, inspect, and report on the condition of crops to ensure optimal growth and early identification of issues.
  • Plant trees, seeds, seedlings, roots, bulbs, tubers, and vines using hand tools and farm machinery.
  • Prepare and cultivate soil, and carry out crop maintenance activities such as thinning, weeding, hoeing, pruning, and training of plants.
  • Apply pesticides and other treatments to control weeds, pests, and diseases in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Operate and monitor irrigation systems to ensure adequate water supply for crops.
  • Install and maintain plant supports such as trellises, and protective structures including netting, greenhouses, and fencing.
  • Harvest produce including fruit, nuts, and vegetables according to quality standards, removing damaged or overripe items.
  • Sort, grade, bunch, pack, and prepare produce for storage or transport.
  • Load harvested produce into transport vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of farm infrastructure, including sheds, fences, and irrigation systems.
  • Operate and maintain general farm machinery used for cultivation, fertilising, spraying, and harvesting.
  • Use data collection tools and farm technology systems to support farm operations.

Overview:
