Job summary

NSW Health in Wilcannia NSW is seeking an Aboriginal Health Practitioner or Trainee to deliver flexible, holistic health services to Aboriginal clients and the community. You will collaborate with nursing staff in the Emergency Department and MPS Inpatient Unit on a 7-day rotating roster across day, afternoon and night shifts.

The role supports addressing access and equity issues in Aboriginal health at the local level, part of NSW Health’s Far West LHD.

Qualifications

• Provide flexible, holistic and culturally sensitive health services to Aboriginal clients and the community.
• Support nursing staff in the Emergency Department and MPS Inpatient Unit on a 7-day rotating roster (day/afternoon/night shifts).
• Address access and equity issues relating to Aboriginal health service delivery at the local level.

Responsibilities

• Provide flexible, holistic and culturally sensitive health services to Aboriginal clients and the community, to achieve better health outcomes and better access to health services for Aboriginal people.
• Support nursing staff in the Emergency Department and MPS Inpatient Unit (Residential Aged care /Respite/ Sub- Acute Care). This will be on a 7-day rotating roster (day/afternoon/night shifts across all days).
• Help address access and equity issues relating to Aboriginal health service delivery at the local level.
