Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an accomplished engineer to embed with customer teams and own production-grade SpaceXSI systems from discovery to post-launch support. You will ship agent-powered workflows, integrate with customer auth/data/tools, and build end-to-end solutions that survive in the field.

You will lead in-flight-escalation handling, latency and cost tradeoffs, and iterate based on real usage, ensuring the customer can operate what you built and patterns are reusable for SpaceXAI products.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, machine learning engineering, or data science.
• Proficient in writing and reviewing production code (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript; other languages welcome).
• Experience owning a customer or operator outcome and shipping end-to-end systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery with the customer: understand their codebases and workflows, define success metrics.
• Design and ship production agents, AI applications, and coding-agent workflows on Grok and models.
• Get a first version live in days, then harden it with rollout, monitoring, and iteration from real usage.
• Own production quality: tracing, evals, debugging model or delivery failures, latency and cost tradeoffs.
• Build the systems around the model (tools, servers, retrieval, rules) and integrate into the customer’s auth, data, and delivery systems.
• Measure outcomes like revenue, cost, hours saved, and cycle time.
• Collaborate with Staff+, platform, and domain leaders and translate learnings into reusable patterns.
