West Hawthorn Pre-School is seeking an experienced Early Childhood Educator to join the 4-year-old kindergarten team on Fridays. The role runs 8.00am–5.00pm, including non-contact time, under the Victorian Early Childhood Teachers and Educators Agreement.

The successful applicant will contribute to a high-quality program, bring knowledge of VEYLDF/EYLF, and support a collaborative, inclusive learning environment with families and colleagues.

Competenze

• Must hold a Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care recognised by ACECQA.
• Must hold a current ACECQA compliant First Aid Certificate, including Resuscitation, Asthma Management, and Anaphylaxis.
• Must have current child protection training.

West Hawthorn Pre-School is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic educator to join our 4-year-old kindergarten team on Fridays in 2027.

Fridays, 8.00am–5.00pm (including non-contact time)

Employment under Victorian Early Childhood Teachers and Educators Agreement

10 week leave model

Pay rate: $31 to $34 per hour

About the role

The successful applicant will join a highly experienced and supportive team of teachers and educators working on Fridays with the Red Kangaroo 4-year-old kindergarten group.

The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively. They will be highly organised and have sound knowledge of early childhood education, with demonstrated ability to work with the team to maintain a high-quality kindergarten program.

West Hawthorn Pre-school is a non profit community-based, sessional kindergarten. We provide two programs for 3-year-old and two programs for 4-year-old children. Established in 1947, West Hawthorn Pre-school has been providing enriching learning experiences for nearly 80 years. We are a friendly, caring and respected pre-school and can be found nestled amongst the peaceful and leafy surrounds of Smart Street Reserve.

About you

The successful applicant will share and look to extend our kindergarten’s philosophy and will meet the following requirements:

Demonstrated experience in the education industry, with particular consideration given to a previous role in a community-based kindergarten.

Previous experience working within kindergartens with current knowledge of early childhood education theory and practice.

Sound understanding of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) and/or Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

Strong communication skills with the ability to build secure, respectful, and reciprocal relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

Understanding of the National Quality Standards (NQS).

Understanding of the purpose and expectations of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and demonstrated commitment to contributing to a child safe organisation in both practice and culture.

Upholding an inclusive and welcoming learning environment that recognises and values the diverse backgrounds of all children, families, and the local community.

Demonstrated professionalism and ethical conduct in their interactions with children, families, and colleagues.

Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

Must hold a minimum qualification of a Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care recognised by ACECQA.

Hold a current ACECQA compliant First Aid Certificate, including Resuscitation, Asthma Management, and Anaphylaxis.
