Job summary

Tarneit P¿9 College is seeking enthusiastic classroom teachers to deliver high-quality instruction to Prep–Year 9 students in a diverse, growing community. The role emphasizes planning, assessment, and a data-informed approach to improve learning outcomes, with involvement in PLCs and school-wide initiatives.

Two salary ranges apply for classroom teachers, with explicit standards for collaboration, professional learning, and student wellbeing.

Qualifications

• SC1: Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including literacy and numeracy; respond to student needs.
• SC2: Experience planning and implementing high impact teaching strategies and evaluating learning growth.
• SC3: Experience monitoring and using data to inform teaching and provide feedback to students/parents.
• SC4: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; build collaboration with students, parents, colleagues and community.
• SC5: Align with Department values and engage in ongoing professional learning to improve teaching quality.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
• Contribute to development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum areas.
• Undertake school activities such as parent meetings, staff meetings, and camps/excursions.
• Participate in non-teaching duties as required by the school program.
• Support student wellbeing, engagement and learning through collaborative practices.
