Job summary

North Geelong Secondary College in Geelong's northern suburbs is seeking a dedicated classroom teacher to deliver engaging Years 7-12 programs within a dynamic learning community.

You will plan and teach diverse classes, use data to inform instruction, and collaborate with colleagues to support student learning, wellbeing and achievement across the READ values—Respect, Excellence, Achievement and Diversity.

Qualifications

• SC1 Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to teach literacy and numeracy.
• SC2 Experience planning/high impact teaching strategies informed by how students learn.
• SC3 Experience using data to inform teaching and provide feedback to students/parents.
• SC4 Strong interpersonal/communication skills and ability to collaborate with staff, parents and the community.
• SC5 Alignment with Department values and commitment to professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individual students.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum programs.
• Undertake other classroom duties and school responsibilities as required.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings and school committees.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to junior staff or student teachers.
