Job summary

Synergie is seeking Freight Handlers / Dockhands for an ongoing role at Melbourne Airport, VIC. In this hands-on position you will unload, sort and move freight in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

You should be physically fit, able to lift up to 25kg, and available for AM or PM shifts from Monday to Friday, with immediate starts offered. Pre-employment checks will be conducted.

Qualifications

• Physically capable of performing repetitive manual handling duties.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25kg.
• Previous experience as a Dockhand, Freight Handler, Freight Sorter, Container Unloader or Warehouse Labourer is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Unloading freight and cartons from containers.
• Moving cartons and freight onto conveyor belts.

What you will be required to do:

As a Freight Handler / Dockhand, you will play an important role in the day-to-day movement, unloading and sorting of freight.

This is a hands-on, physically active role working within a fast-paced freight and logistics environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Unloading freight and cartons from containers.
• Moving cartons and freight onto conveyor belts.
• Manual handling and lifting of items up to 25kg.
• Assisting with general dockhand and warehouse duties.
• Following all site safety and manual handling procedures.

To be successful in the role you will:

• Be physically fit and comfortable performing repetitive manual handling duties.
• Be capable of safely lifting and moving items weighing up to 25kg.
• Have a strong work ethic and reliable attendance.
• Have good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Previous experience as a Dockhand, Freight Handler, Freight Sorter, Container Unloader or Warehouse Labourer will be highly regarded.
