Job summary

StarTrack Wingfield is hiring a Freight Handler in a permanent part-time role, 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday 4.30pm to 8.30pm. You will help load and unload freight and support on-time deliveries.

You’ll join a diverse warehouse team where safety and wellbeing are priorities; the job offers a hourly rate of $33.65 plus 13% super and a 17.5% penalty on top of the base rate.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift at least 30 kg repeatedly.
• Physically fit with a strong team orientation.
• Forklift licence is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Load parcels from conveyors into trucks for outbound delivery.
• Unload trucks and assist with staging freight for departures.
• Wrap freight and scan documentation for accuracy.

About the opportunity

We’re looking for a Freight Handler to join our diverse and hard-working team at StarTrack Wingfield. With e-commerce booming, our freight handlers are the folks making sure consignments are correctly loaded so we can get deliveries out to our customers, fast. This is a permanent part time opportunity working Mon-Fri 4.30pm - 8.30pm (20hrs week). This vacancy pays $33.65 per hour plus 13% super. Additionally the vacancy has a penalty rate of 17.5% on top of the base rate.

You’ll be

• Using your strong work ethic to help us keep delivering great service.
• Handloading parcels and cartons from conveyor belts into trucks, ready for our drivers to head out on the road.
• Unloading trucks when drivers get back to the warehouse.
• Wrapping freight by hand or using a shrink wrapper (you know - like the ones at the airport), electronically scanning parcels and updating documentation.

About you

• You’re fit and can lift at least 30kg repeatedly – we assess this at a pre-employment medical check to help make sure you’re safe on the job.
• You’re laser focused, even when the role gets repetitive
• You’re a team player, passionate about helping our team keep the community connected.
• If you’ve got a forklift licence that’s a plus, since this comes handy moving freight around the warehouse.
