Job summary

Environment Protection Authority Victoria (Docklands, VIC) is seeking a Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis to lead the FP&A team, oversee budget development, forecasting, modelling, analysis and reporting, and drive funding submissions across government.

You will shape financial strategy, strengthen controls, and lead a high-performing team to support enterprise and regulatory priorities in a dynamic public sector environment.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary degree and/or postgraduate qualification in accounting and finance, business management or a related discipline.
• Experience leading a senior management team through change to achieve high performance and a positive culture of financial control.
• Strong understanding of government funding mechanisms, with proven experience developing budget submissions and applying government accounting requirements.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel capability for complex financial modelling and analysis, with clear written and verbal communication.
• CPA/CA or equivalent is desirable, with leadership experience in government.

Responsibilities

• Lead the annual multi-year budget and forward estimates, providing expert advice and business partnering.
• Drive funding submissions and develop budget submissions to DEECA and DTF.
• Develop and execute the finance strategy aligning planning and analysis with priorities.
• Lead a high-performing FPA team with transparent, risk-based decision-making.
• Improve finance systems, processes, reporting timelines and internal controls, and support month-end/year-end activities.
