Job summary

The Senior Finance Officer position within the Victorian Government’s Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions is based in Melbourne. You will support the Industry, Trade and Investment Group to manage resources, strengthen financial sustainability and advise on budgeting, forecasting and reporting.

You will provide specialist financial and procurement guidance, work with senior stakeholders and contribute to strategic business planning.

Qualifications

• Mandatory qualification: A relevant tertiary degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• A Chartered Accountant or Certified Practising Accountant qualification, or evidence that you are completing one, would be highly regarded.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud and Power BI is also desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepares technical reports at an advanced professional level.
• Negotiates with stakeholders and peers to gain cooperation and meet delivery timelines for projects, services or advice.
• Contributes to strategic business planning, interprets and applies business plans and policies, and advises others on implementation issues.
• Develops briefs on highly complex issues, providing options for discussion and consideration to inform final decisions.
