Job summary

BetterLabs, a Perth-based venture studio and fund, seeks a Technical Lead to own architecture and production delivery. You’ll work with a Founding Product Lead to shape scalable tech while shipping today. You’ll lead engineers, establish lightweight processes, and enable rapid experimentation with secure, maintainable software. Initial 12‑month role with hybrid Perth work and interstate travel potential.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping production software in startup/venture environments.
• Strong hands-on full-stack capabilities with end‑to‑end ownership.
• Experience across frontend, backend, APIs, databases and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision, architecture and engineering direction of the product.
• Assess the prototype and determine what to retain, evolve or rebuild for next stage.
• Remain hands-on, designing, developing and shipping production software.
