Job summary

Telnyx is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join our Sydney-based hybrid team. You will work with enterprise customers across Australia, New Zealand, and APAC to architect and ship production systems on Telnyx's global network, spanning voice, messaging, AI, wireless, and edge compute.

You will sit at the intersection of software engineering and AI infrastructure, collaborating with customer engineering and leadership to understand requirements, build integrations, and take solutions from

Qualifications

• CS degree or equivalent practical experience required.
• 3+ years building software, infrastructure, or in technical consulting.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Node.js, or Go.
• Hands-on experience deploying LLM applications or AI infrastructure in production.
• Experience with LiteLLM or comparable LLM gateway including routing, fallbacks, and observability.
• Comfortable with Kubernetes, Docker, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and production operations.

Responsibilities

• Embed with customers to understand their technical requirements and AI use cases.
• Architect and build production solutions using Telnyx's Voice, Messaging, Wireless, WebRTC, AI, and Edge Compute platforms.
• Build and deploy AI Voice Assistants, conversational AI, and LLM-powered applications.
• Deploy and operate LLM infrastructure, including open-weight models and gateways.
• Design model routing, fallback, observability, and cost strategies for production AI workloads.
• Lead technical discovery sessions, POCs, pilots, and production launches from whiteboard to go-live.
