Acrow Formwork & Scaffolding Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Formwork Team Leader in Queensland. You will lead a specialist engineering team, perform complex structural analysis, and certify formwork and shoring systems for projects across Queensland.

The role requires Chartered Professional Engineer status, Civil/Structural engineering degree, and extensive REVIT/AutoCAD and analytical software experience. Based at Stapylton, you will oversee design, drafting, and site collaboration.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate will hold Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status.
• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Significant experience designing and certifying formwork, falsework and shoring systems.
• Strong experience with structural analysis and temporary works design.
• Proven leadership or mentoring of engineers and drafters.
• Proficient with REVIT & AutoCAD and associated analysis software.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Formwork Team Leader to lead the engineering design, drafting and certification of formwork projects across Queensland.

This is a senior technical and leadership role suited to a Chartered Structural Engineer with substantial hands-on experience designing and certifying formwork, falsework and shoring systems.

You will lead a specialist engineering team while remaining actively involved in complex engineering work - reviewing project requirements, developing solutions, undertaking structural analysis, reviewing designs and providing engineering certification.

Our formwork projects regularly involve challenging geometries, significant loads, unusual support conditions and bespoke formwork arrangements. The role offers the opportunity to work on interesting, technically demanding building and civil infrastructure projects throughout Queensland.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead the engineering and drafting delivery of formwork projects in Queensland

Manage, mentor and provide technical direction to engineers, designers and drafters within the team

Design, analyse, review and certify formwork, falsework and shoring systems

Undertake structural analysis and detailed engineering calculations for conventional and bespoke formwork arrangements

Develop practical engineering solutions for complex site constraints, concrete pours and construction sequences

Undertake and review FEA and frame analysis models

Review Revit models, formwork layouts, engineering drawings and design documentation

Ensure designs comply with applicable Australian Standards, Codes of Practice and safety-in-design requirements

Provide technical support to project, sales and site teams

Liaise directly with clients regarding engineering requirements and technical solutions

Resolve complex engineering and site issues

Review and approve engineering documentation prior to issue

Support the technical development and mentoring of engineers and drafters within the wider engineering team

About You

The successful candidate will have:

Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status

Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

Significant experience designing and certifying formwork, falsework and shoring systems – essential

Strong structural engineering and temporary works design capability

Professional experience using Autodesk REVIT & Autodesk AutoCAD

Strong experience using structural analysis / FEA software such as SpaceGass, Microstran, RSTAB or Strand7

Strong understanding of Australian structural design standards and codes of practice

Demonstrated ability to undertake detailed structural calculations and independently verify complex designs

Experience leading, mentoring or technically supervising engineers, designers and drafters

Ability to develop practical solutions to unusual and technically challenging problems
