Job summary

Ultraform is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our NSW/QLD projects. You will interpret plans, set out work, measure and cut timber, and undertake formwork with a focus on quality and safety.

This permanent full-time role requires a minimum of 1 year carpentry experience, a Certificate III in Carpentry, and a White Card. You will work outdoors, follow WHS guidelines, and collaborate with supervising trades for reliable project delivery.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent trade qualification.
• At least 1 year full-time carpentry experience.
• Formwork/structural carpentry experience is highly regarded.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications.
• Strong commitment to quality and safety on site.
• Current driver’s licence and reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Study and interpret building plans, drawings and specs to determine materials and installation procedures.
• Measure, mark, cut, shape and prepare timber and other materials.

Job Description

Ultraform This position is suited to a skilled tradesperson with strong practical carpentry experience who can work accurately from plans and specifications and contribute to the construction across our projects.

About the Role

As a Carpenter with Ultraform, you will undertake a range of carpentry and construction activities across our projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting plans and specifications, setting out work, measuring and cutting materials and undertaking formwork and associated carpentry work in accordance with project specifications and Australian safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Study and interpret building plans, drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures.
• Measure, mark, cut, shape and prepare timber, plywood and other construction materials to required specifications.
• Select appropriate timber and construction materials and prepare layouts for carpentry works.
• Set out, construct and erect wall frames, partitions and other structural components in accordance with plans and specifications.
• Construct and erect timber frameworks and structural supports for construction projects.
• Construct, assemble, erect and dismantle formwork for concrete structures, including walls, columns, slabs, beams, foundations and other structural elements as required.
• Cut, assemble and securely fasten shaped parts and components using appropriate carpentry techniques, tools and mechanical fasteners.
• Cut and form timber joints and ensure components are accurately fitted and aligned.
• Check completed structures for accuracy, level, plumb, alignment and conformity with plans and project specifications.
• Repair, replace damaged or deteriorated timber structures and existing fittings when required.
• Safely operate and maintain hand tools, power tools and carpentry equipment.
• Coordinate carpentry activities with supervisors and other trades to support efficient project delivery.
• Follow site plans, Safe Work Method Statements and workplace health and safety requirements at all times.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised work area and ensure tools and materials are appropriately stored.

Qualifications & Experience

• Certificate III in Carpentry or an equivalent relevant trade qualification.
• At least 1 year of full-time experience working as a Carpenter.
• Experience in formwork and structural carpentry will be highly regarded.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret construction plans, drawings and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry construction methods, materials and installation techniques.
• Experience using carpentry hand tools, power tools and construction equipment.
• Ability to accurately measure, cut, assemble and install structural components.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Good understanding of construction site safety and WHS requirements.
• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a construction team.
• Good communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work and work outdoors in varying site conditions.
• Current driver’s licence and reliable transport.
• White Card or ability to obtain one prior to commencement.
