Job summary

ISCM PTY LTD is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our Sydney-based team. The role focuses on formwork carpentry across civil and infrastructure projects, with a pathway to contribute to major construction works.

The successful candidate will read drawings, set out formwork, and work with steel fixers and concreters to prepare reinforced concrete structures for pours. This is a full-time on-site position in Sydney NSW.

Qualifications

• AQF Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant formwork experience.
• Construction White Card held at all times.
• Sound knowledge of WHS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings to determine formwork requirements.
• Set out, construct, install and dismantle formwork for concrete works.
• Construct formwork for foundations, bridges and slabs.
• Measure, mark and cut timber, plywood and formwork materials.
• Inspect completed formwork and rectify defects before concrete placement.
• Operate carpentry hand tools and power tools safely.

Formwork Carpenter – Full-Time Position

Sydney - New South Wales

Salary: $85,000 – 95,000 per annum

ISCM PTY LTD is an Australian construction company specialising in structural reinforcementand steel fixing services, with experienced teams delivering works across a range of major construction projects. The company provides steel fixing and labour-hire services and undertakes reinforcement works including walls, ramps, post-tension slabs, conventional reinforcement, mechanical connections, drill and epoxy works, and associated groundworks. ISCM has contributed to a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, educational, healthcare and infrastructure-related construction projects across New South Wales and Australia.

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team on a full-time basis.

The Role

The successful candidate will undertake formwork carpentry and associated construction activities across our civil and infrastructure projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications to determine formwork requirements.
• Set out, construct, install and dismantle formwork for civil and structural concrete works.
• Construct formwork for foundations, bridges, including abutments, headstocks, footings, concrete slabs, walls, columns and other reinforced concrete structures.
• Measure, mark, cut, shape and assemble timber, plywood and other formwork materials to required dimensions.
• Install and secure formwork systems, supports, props and bracing in accordance with construction drawings and project specifications.
• Work alongside steel fixers and concreters to prepare formwork and reinforced concrete structures for concrete pours.
• Strip and dismantle formwork safely following completion of concrete works.
• Inspect completed formwork and rectify defects prior to concrete placement.
• Operate and maintain carpentry hand tools, power tools and construction equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and comply with WHS requirements, site procedures and project-specific quality standards.

Minimum Requirements

• AQF Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent relevant qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant carpentry/formwork experience.
• Machinery: 2 years (preferred)
• Construction White Card.
• Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.

Desirable Skills

• Experience working on civil infrastructure and structural concrete projects.
• Strong measuring, setting-out and formwork assembly skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a construction team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual construction duties.
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transport preferred.
