Job summary

Linfox Intermodal in West Melbourne, VIC, is seeking an experienced Counterbalance Forklift Operator for our high-volume cross-dock operations. This casual night shift role runs Monday to Friday, 6:00pm–2:00am, with duties including loading/unloading, container re-work, and general warehouse tasks in a fast-paced transport environment.

You will operate counterbalance forklifts safely, re-work freight inside containers, and support efficient distribution while upholding safety and CoR standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current High Risk LF Forklift Licence.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience operating counterbalance forklifts.
• Experience loading/unloading trucks, trailers and containers in logistics.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate counterbalance forklifts to load/unload trucks, trailers and containers.
• Re-work and reconfigure freight within containers to meet requirements.
• Move, stage and prepare freight for onward distribution; support cross-dock operations.
• Perform manual handling tasks and general warehouse duties as required.
• Maintain safety and CoR compliance; work independently and in a team.

What does the job look like?

Linfox Intermodal have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Counterbalance Forklift Operator to join our high-volume Cross Dock operations in West Melbourne, VIC. Working within a fast-paced transport and logistics environment, you'll play a critical role in keeping freight moving safely and efficiently across our national network. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include loading and unloading trucks and freight containers, container re-work, manual handling activities, and supporting general cross-dock operations.

This is a casual night shift opportunity, working Monday to Friday, 6:00pm - 2:00am. Key Areas:

• Safely operate counterbalance forklifts to load and unload trucks, trailers and shipping containers
• Re-work and reconfigure freight within containers to meet operational and customer requirements
• Move, stage and prepare freight for onward distribution through the network
• Participate in manual handling tasks and general warehouse duties as required
• Maintain a strong commitment to safety, Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and operational compliance standards
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment
