Job summary

State Government of Victoria is seeking a Forest and Fire Operations Officer - Technical Lead in Gippsland, Australia. You will take a hands-on role across public lands, leading and mentoring a crew, while maintaining roads, recreation areas and fire infrastructure essential to the region.

You will be on the front line of fire and other emergencies, coordinating preparedness, response and recovery, with opportunities to deploy across Victoria.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge or experience working in bushfire response or forest operations is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience and understanding in natural resource management, preferably with good knowledge of forest management and forest operations

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor your crew while maintaining roads, recreation areas and fire infrastructure across the public land estate.
• Be at the front line of fire and other emergencies, leading preparedness, response and recovery efforts.
