Job summary

Structerre Consulting in Melbourne, VIC, seeks a dedicated Forensic Structural Engineer to deliver high-quality inspections, investigations, and technical advice for building projects. You will work with clients, builders and internal stakeholders to provide practical engineering solutions and detailed reports.

With a Bachelor of Engineering and CPP registration eligibility, you will mentor junior engineers, support process improvements, and contribute to a collaborative, client-focused team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Civil/Structural with CPP registration eligibility.
  • Strong knowledge of structural principles, NCC, Australian Standards.
  • Experience preparing high-quality technical reports.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to manage priorities, work autonomously and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct structural inspections and investigations with clear technical reports.
  • Deliver forensic engineering advice to clients and stakeholders.

Your Role

As a Forensic Structural Engineer, you’ll bring your structural engineering expertise to deliver high-quality inspections, investigations and technical advice for building projects. Working closely with clients, builders and internal stakeholders, you'll provide practical engineering solutions, detailed reports and recommendations, while contributing to the development of a high-performing engineering team.

You will:

  • Conduct structural inspections and investigations, providing clear technical reports and recommendations based on site observations.
  • Deliver technical and forensic engineering advice to clients, colleagues and key stakeholders.
  • Build strong client relationships by managing expectations and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers through technical guidance, coaching and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices through professional development, research and technical leadership.
What You’ll Bring
  • A Bachelor of Engineering (Civil/Structural) or equivalent, with eligibility for registration as a Certified Practising Engineer.
  • Strong technical knowledge of structural engineering principles, the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards and residential construction practices.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing high-quality technical reports and providing practical engineering solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a strong customer-focused approach.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities, work autonomously and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
