Job summary

Victoria Police – Forensic Services, Fingerprint Sciences Group (FSG) in Macleod, VIC, seeks an ongoing VPS-3 Team Leader to oversee senior administrative support and supervise administrative staff within the FSG. You will ensure efficient service delivery and contribute to workflow improvements across the unit.

The role requires strong leadership, documentation skills, and the ability to coordinate with fingerprint examiners, management, and external stakeholders while maintaining compliance

Qualifications

• Experience supervising administrative staff and coordinating priorities to meet deadlines.
• Ability to manage documentation and correspondences for court preparation and compliance.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and ability to provide guidance to management and staff.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain LEAP and NAFIS record systems.
• Maintain filing systems and digital databases for compliance.
• Prepare statements for presentation in court with fingerprint examiners.
• Respond to enquiries from internal and external stakeholders on case and sample status.
• Manage projects to improve administrative processes under the Group Manager FSG.
• Participate in accreditation duties and update controlled documents.
• Provide advice and recommendations on routine and complex administrative tasks.
• Supervise and develop the Administration Officer VPS-2 cohort, including recruitment and performance.
• Prepare, publish and maintain rostering and scheduling for FSG staff.
• Provide senior administrative support to units within the FSG.
