Job summary

Youfoodz is seeking a Food Technology Manager based in Karawatha, Brisbane, to lead the Food Safety program across all product lines. You will validate new products, changes, and processes, ensuring FSANZ compliance and robust material specifications.

You will mentor a team of 3 Food Technologists, oversee label development, and coordinate with QA on HACCP updates and regulatory changes. The role reports to the Head of Quality Assurance & Technical.

Qualifications

• Tertiary degree in Food Science or Technology.
• Minimum 5 years of food industry experience in a Food Technology role.
• Minimum 2 years of experience leading technical teams.
• Solid knowledge of Food Safety Management Systems, HACCP, and FSANZ standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Food Safety program and product/process validations.
• Lead and mentor a team of 3 Food Technologists; manage rosters and development.
• Review and approve raw material, component, and finished product specifications.
• Ensure accurate label information and NIPs in line with FSANZ and legal standards.
• Facilitate Food Safety within the Menu Development (NPD) process.
• Drive quality metrics through continuous improvement initiatives.

You will…

• Oversee the Food Safety program, including product and process/equipment validations
• Lead and mentor a team of 3 Food Technologists, managing rosters and team development
• Review and approve raw material, component, and finished product specifications
• Ensure accurate creation, review, and approval of label information and NIPs in compliance with FSANZ and legal standards
• Facilitate Food Safety requirements within the Menu Development (NPD) process
• Lead Quality Squad and continuous improvement activities to improve quality metrics
• Coordinate with QA regarding HACCP reviews and process/procedure updates for new products
• Monitor regulatory changes via Food Legal and FSANZ subscriptions

You have/are…

• Tertiary degree in Food Science or Technology
• Minimum 5 years of food industry experience in a Food Technology role
• Minimum 2 years of experience leading technical teams
• Sound knowledge of Food Safety Management Systems, HACCP, and FSANZ food standards
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical problem-solving, and relentless prioritization skills
