Job summary

Portland District Health is seeking a suitably qualified candidate to join the Food Services team on a part-time basis (minimum 16 hours per fortnight). You will deliver friendly patient, visitor and staff service in a fast-paced kitchen environment and assist with meal plating for each service.

The role emphasises adherence to food safety plans and dietary requirements, with opportunities for ongoing training and development, relocation support where applicable, and flexible working conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service.
• Ability to work under routine supervision, autonomously or in a team.

Responsibilities

An exciting and rewarding opportunity is available for a suitably qualified candidate to join the Food Services team at Portland District Health.

Undertake duties and responsibilities in a professional and efficient manner whilst working in a fast paced commercial kitchen environment. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors and staff at Portland District Health that positively represents the Food Services Team. Adhere to Portland District Health, Department of Health and Local Council Food Safety Plan, Healthy Choices and strict dietary requirements whilst assisting with the plating of meals per meal services.

About you:

• Previous experience in providing exceptional customer service
• Capability to work under routine supervision, either autonomously or in a team

Portland District Health (PDH) provides an integrated health service for the community. The hospital was established in 1856 on the current site and now provides a comprehensive range of services that include:

• Hospital based Medical and Surgical services, Medical Imaging (Radiology), Pharmacy and Pathology
• A 24/7 Urgent Care Centre for emergency treatment
• Residential aged care for 30 residents at Harbourside Lodge
• An extensive range of primary and community services for the local community

PDH delivers services from a single campus, employs around 470 staff with an FTE of approximately 290, and has an active volunteer workforce. The People and Culture Unit sits within the Corporate Services Directorate, with other Units including Finance, Building Services, Food Services, Environmental Services, Executive Support, Administration and Health Information.
