Job summary

Portland District Health is seeking a suitably qualified Environmental Services team member to help ensure a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors and staff, following Victorian Healthcare Cleaning Standards and National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.

The role includes cleaning public, staff, inpatient and clinical areas and operating waste disposal and recycling systems, with shifts Monday to Friday 6:30am to 3:00pm and some weekend/public holiday shifts.

Qualifications

• Physical fitness to perform duties.
• Ability to perform duties within established routines and procedures.
• Capability to work under routine supervision, individually or in a team.
• Demonstrated competency in cleaning of windows, floors, and use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Previous healthcare/aged care experience is desirable.

Job description

An exciting and rewarding opportunity is available for a suitably qualified candidate to join the Environmental Services team at Portland District Health.

The primary role is to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff; in accordance with Victorian Healthcare Cleaning Standards, and the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards. Undertake the effective and efficient cleaning of the facility; including public, staff, inpatient, and clinical areas; together with the operation of the waste disposal and recycling systems.

Shift times Monday to Friday 6:30am to 3:00pm with the likelihood of some weekend and Public Holiday shifts to fill.

About you:

• An appropriate level of physical fitness to be able to undertake the specific duties.
• Ability to perform duties within established routines, methods, and procedures.
• Capability to work under routine supervision, either individually or in a team.
• Demonstrated competency in the cleaning of windows, hard and soft floors; and the use of a wide range of commercial cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Previous experience in healthcare/aged care environment - desirable
