Job summary

Respect Ingham Lodge in regional Australia is hiring a Casual Food Services Assistant to work alongside our Chef or Cook, preparing and serving meals while upholding food safety standards. The role supports across hotel services, including laundry and cleaning, in a close-knit team focused on resident wellbeing.

You will help with menu planning, kitchen duties and delivering meals with a courteous, caring approach.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Food Handling Course is required.
• Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain.
• Previous experience in resident-facing food service is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support menu planning to reflect residents’ needs, preferences and dietary requirements.
• Prepare, serve and present meals and refreshments in line with the Food Safety Program.
• Maintain high hygiene standards and safe food handling practices.
• Monitor and record food safety requirements, including temperatures and goods received.
• Deliver meals with a friendly, respectful approach and report concerns to the Registered Nurse in Charge.

About the Role

As a Casual Food Services Assistant, you’ll work alongside our Chef or Cook to prepare and serve meals for residents, while maintaining food safety standards and keeping the kitchen and dining areas running smoothly. Based in a regional community, this role offers a welcoming, close-knit team environment where everyone pitches in and your contribution is genuinely valued. There will also be opportunities to support across hotel services, including laundry and cleaning duties.

No two days are the same! As Food Service Assistant you will:

• Support menu planning to reflect residents’ needs, preferences, and dietary requirements.
• Prepare, serve, and present meals and refreshments in line with the Food Safety Program.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, including general cleaning and safe food handling practices.
• Monitor and record food safety requirements, including temperatures and goods received.
• Deliver meals with a friendly, respectful approach and report any food or beverage concerns to the Registered Nurse in Charge.

About You
