Job summary

Alfred Health in Melbourne is seeking a Food Services Assistant to join the Food Services team. The role focuses on delivering a safe food service and maintaining a clean, hygienic kitchen environment in line with hospital standards.

Applicants should have experience in health and aged care food services, be adaptable to change, and be willing to undergo training to enhance skills for the position. Permanent, part-time shifts (AM and PM) available at The Alfred.

Qualifications

• A background of experience in Food Services within Health and Aged Care facilities.
• Ability and adaptability to participate in change.
• Willingness to participate in training and education to improve skills required for the performance of the position.

Responsibilities

• The Food Services Assistant will operate as part of the Food Services team and will assist in providing and maintaining a safe food delivery service and a clean and hygienic environment within the kitchen.
• This will be performed in a manner that meets or exceeds industry best practice and maintains cleaning standards in accordance with the Department of Human Services Cleaning Standards for public hospitals, food safety in line with the on-site Hospital Food Safety Plan, the Food Act 1984 and FSANZ standards and in doing so work closely with other Food Services team members to ensure we maintain a committed, safe and socially responsible multi skilled team.

The Department

Alfred Health Support Services provides non-clinical support services across Alfred Health, these services include cleaning services, car parking and fleet management, waste management, gardens and grounds, distribution, security and access control, ward support, linen services, ancillary services, food services and hospitality.

The Role

The Food Services Assistant will operate as part of the Food Services team and will assist in providing and maintaining a safe food delivery service and a clean and hygienic environment within the kitchen.
