Alfred Health in Melbourne is seeking a Food Services Assistant to join the Food Services team at The Alfred. The role supports safe food delivery and maintains a clean, hygienic kitchen in line with hospital standards.

The position is permanent, part-time with AM and PM shifts. Applicants should have experience in health and aged care food service and be willing to undertake training; onsite parking and salary packaging are available.

The Department

Alfred Health Support Services provides non-clinical support services across Alfred Health, these services include cleaning services, car parking and fleet management, waste management, gardens and grounds, distribution, security and access control, ward support, linen services, ancillary services, food services and hospitality.

The Role

The Food Services Assistant will operate as part of the Food Services team and will assist in providing and maintaining a safe food delivery service and a clean and hygienic environment within the kitchen. This will be performed in a manner that meets or exceeds industry best practice and maintains cleaning standards in accordance with the Department of Human Services Cleaning Standards for public hospitals, food safety in line with the on-site Hospital Food Safety Plan, the Food Act 1984 and FSANZ standards and in doing so work closely with other Food Services team members to ensure we maintain a committed, safe and socially responsible multi skilled team.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• A background of experience in Food Services within Health and Aged Care facilities
• Have the ability and adaptability to participate in change
• Have completed or be willing to participate in training and education appropriate to improve skills required for the performance of the position
