Job summary

Compass Group Pty Limited seeks a Food & Beverage Supervisor for Lavarack Barracks in Townsville, a hands‑on leadership role overseeing dining facilities and events. You will drive service standards, safety compliance and staff development while coordinating meal services for Defence personnel.

The role is primarily Monday–Friday with occasional weekends and public holidays; on‑site parking, uniforms and meals are provided, plus employee discounts and a supportive team environment.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Food & Beverage Supervisor to join our team at Lavarack Barracks. This is a hands‑on leadership role suited to a hospitality professional who enjoys leading teams, delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining high operational standards.

THE POSITION

• Lead and support front‑of‑house team members during daily operations
• Supervise food and beverage service across dining facilities and hospitality functions
• Coordinate meal services and special event requirements
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards
• Ensure high standards of customer service and presentation
• Assist with staff training, coaching and development
• Support rostering and daily operational requirements
• Promote a positive and professional team culture

THE PERSON

• Previous experience in a Food & Beverage Supervisor, Team Leader or similar hospitality role
• Strong people management, coaching and development skills
• Strong leadership and team coordination skills
• Sound knowledge of food safety, HACCP and allergen management
• Experience with rostering, workforce planning and daily operations
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Hold a current RSA or be willing to obtain one.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check and Defence Baseline Clearance
