Job summary

Oriental Merchant in Mulgrave, VIC is seeking a QA Assistant to join our Quality Assurance team. You will track supplier data, review specifications, and perform QA checks on a range of products to ensure compliance with ANZ regulations. The role involves labeling checks, sensory evaluations, and supporting product development.

Strong MS Office skills and English communication are essential. Applicants must have Full Australian working rights and a degree in Food science/Technology or Nutrition.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and analytical approach to problem solving.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English; additional Chinese is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Track suppliers updating the online technical product information database and report data.
• Coordinate and check QA documentation (specifications, processes, allergen controls) for customers and overseas markets.
• Perform QA checks on frozen and shelf-stable groceries; conduct weight checks for seafood and other products.
• Conduct sensory evaluations and handle customer complaint testing with data collection and analysis.
• Record incoming and new products from suppliers and verify labeling for compliance with ANZ regulations.
• Assist in product labeling to ensure ANZ compliance and support packaging development projects.
• Assist demonstrations and presentations to retailers, food service, and institutions as required.
