Job summary

Renato's Florist in Victoria is seeking a part-time Florist to craft custom floral arrangements, care for flowers and plants, assist customers, process sales, and help with deliveries and event setup.

Responsibilities include unpacking shipments, trimming stems, conditioning flowers, greeting customers, handling orders, and stock management. A Certificate III in Floristry (or working towards) and a current driver's license are advantageous.

• Process POS transactions, manage stock, place vendor orders as needed.
• Keep shop and display areas clean, organized, and visually appealing.
• Pack and deliver arrangements and assist with on-site event setup.
• Fulfil additional duties as required by management.

Job description

Renato's Florist is expanding its team and seeking a Part Time Florist. You will create custom floral arrangements, care for flowers and plants, provide customer service, process sales, maintain the shop, and assist with deliveries and event setup.

Key responsibilities

Create custom bouquets, centrepieces, wreaths, and arrangements for everyday sales, weddings, and events

Unpack shipments, trim stems, change water, and apply proper conditioning to maximize the freshness and longevity of inventory

Greet walk-in customers, handle telephone and online orders, and offer advice on flower types, color schemes, and pricing

Process point-of-sale (POS) transactions, manage stock levels, and place vendor orders for fresh flowers and supplies as required

Keep the retail floor, display fridge, and work areas clean, organized, and visually appealing

Pack and wrap arrangements safely, coordinate local deliveries, and assist with on-site event setup when required

Fulfil other duties as required by management and other department personnel

Days of work will be based on Monday to Friday with the possibility of working some weekends if required.

About you

Good communication and customer service skills

Previous floristry experience

Certificate III in Floristry (or working towards completion) would be an advantage

Current Drivers Licence

Customer service focused: committed to providing exceptional customer service across all channels – written, phone and face to face

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, varying communication style depending upon the audience

Excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others, both internally and externally

Ability to apply knowledge in a practical, commercial manner
