Job summary

The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre in Geelong is seeking a qualified counsellor to provide specialised counselling to children, young people and adults who have experienced sexual assault or family violence. This role includes intake response, group programs, and intervention for harmful sexual behaviours in some cases.

Qualifications

• Degree or above qualification in social work, psychology, family therapy or similar discipline.
• Minimum two years relevant therapeutic experience post qualification.
• Significant knowledge of trauma effects on children and adults and gendered/intersectional approaches.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialised counselling to children, young people and adults affected by sexual assault or family violence.
• Deliver intake responses, group program therapy and interventions for harmful sexual behaviours as required.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and maintain client-centred practice with supervision.
