Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland is seeking an Adult Domestic and Family Violence Counsellor and Court Support Practitioner to provide trauma-informed counselling to adult victim-survivors. You will deliver assessment, safety planning, counselling and court support across the Port Douglas‑Daintree catchment, helping clients understand processes and access independent legal advice when needed.

This role requires a relevant degree, professional registration, DFV experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Trauma-informed counselling experience with adult victim-survivors of domestic and family violence.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to provide court support and procedural information without giving legal advice.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed, person-centred counselling to adult victim-survivors of DFV.
• Conduct assessments, safety planning and risk screening.
• Deliver court support, information and referrals across multiple service delivery modes.
