Job summary

Calvary Muswellbrook Retirement Community is seeking a Support Worker (Catering) to assist in providing nutritious meals and beverages for residents, honoring dietary, cultural and religious preferences. You will work under the direction of the Chef/Cook to ensure high standards of food safety and service.

The role focuses on preparing daily meals, maintaining a clean dining environment, and supporting residents with hospitality needs in a caring, team-based setting.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal communication, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads.
• Commitment to continuous quality improvement.
• Working knowledge of WH&S and Infection Control.
• Ability to operate standard domestic and industrial equipment.
• Previous experience with Australian food safety standards.
• Demonstrated experience in food preparation and food safety desirable.
• Food Handling Certificate desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support service delivery under the direction of the Chef/Cook.
• Prepare daily meals and beverages that meet individual needs of each resident including special dietary requirements, allergies and culturally specific as instructed by the Chef or Cook.
• Ensure environmental service standards are met and maintained, and the residents living environment is safe and maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
• Ensuring that all duties are worked in accordance with the National Food Safety Program at all times including completing food safety records and the prevention of cross contamination.
