Job summary

Metcash Trading Limited is seeking an experienced Operations/Compliance Coordinator to lead fleet operations, health and safety, compliance, and site maintenance. The role offers autonomy and accountability, with a focus on safety and efficiency on the shop floor.

The ideal candidate will drive audits, manage contractor engagements and maintain accurate fleet records, while building strong internal and external stakeholder relationships across Australia.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Operations, Operations Coordinator Health and Safety, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation, compliance, and audit processes.
• Experience managing fleets, maintenance schedules, and contractors.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Current and valid Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and promote a strong health and safety culture across the site.
• Ensure vehicle registrations, inspections, and compliance requirements are maintained.
• Manage vehicle fleet and coordinate preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
• Oversee contractor engagement and site maintenance requirements.
• Conduct and enforce pre-start checks and safety procedures.
• Lead audits, compliance activities, and corrective action programs.
• Monitor operational performance and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Delegate tasks effectively while maintaining accountability across the operation.
• Maintain accurate records and complete administrative requirements associated with fleet and site operations.
