Job summary

City of Boroondara is seeking a Fleet Officer for a 12-month parental backfill position to manage the Council’s day-to-day fleet operations in Melbourne. You will oversee leasing, usage, and cost-efficiency, while collaborating with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure safe, compliant services.

The role reports to the Coordinator Strategic Procurement within Governance and Legal; it includes a 2-week handover to learn systems and relationships, with a focus on delivering value for

Qualifications

• Experience in fleet management and/or administration with systems.
• Current Victorian driver’s license is essential.
• Relevant degree or diploma with experience, or substantial relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate a diverse fleet including passenger, light commercial, buses, heavy vehicles, plant and trailers.
• Administer leasing and purchasing arrangements; manage fleet service contracts and deliveries/returns.
• Liaise with departments, leasing providers and suppliers to ensure needs are met and compliance with policies.
• Maintain fleet records, monitor expenditure and prepare performance reports.
• Contribute to policy and process improvements and support climate action planning.
• Provide proactive fleet advice and support to internal stakeholders.
