Job summary

Stralis Energy Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to own the end-to-end management of our vehicle and equipment fleet in West Ballina, NSW. The role includes developing a fleet hire service for external clients and ensuring compliance, maintenance, and optimal utilisation across projects.

The successful candidate will manage acquisition, registration, servicing, scheduling and disposal, while driving revenue through external hire and delivering accurate fleet reporting to management.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing a mixed fleet of vehicles and equipment.
• Experience commercialising fleet assets through external hire is highly regarded.
• Commercially minded, organised, and able to manage both operational and revenue aspects.

Responsibilities

• Fleet operations: managing acquisition, registration, servicing, scheduling and disposal of vehicles, plant and equipment.
• Compliance and safety: ensure registrations, inspections, insurance and safety across the fleet.
• Utilisation and scheduling: monitor fleet usage and availability to identify spare capacity.
• Commercial hire: develop and manage external hire arrangements, pricing and contracts.
• Reporting: monitor fleet costs, utilisation, and hire revenue; report to management.
• Systems: maintain accurate fleet records and work with existing systems.

Stralis Energy operates across Electrical Works, Solar Farms, and Cranes and Haulage. We're looking for an experienced Fleet Manager to take end to end ownership of our vehicle and equipment fleet. This role will also be responsible for developing our fleet hire service to external clients.

About the role

You'll be responsible for keeping our fleet compliant, well maintained and operational. This role will require identifying and managing opportunities to generate income by hiring out any under- utilised vehicles, plant and equipment.

Key responsibilities include

Fleet operations

Managing acquisition, registration, servicing, maintenance scheduling and disposal of vehicles, plant and equipment across all business arms.

Compliance and safety

Ensuring registrations, inspections, insurance and safety requirements are met across the fleet.

Utilisation and scheduling

Tracking fleet usage and availability to identify spare capacity across projects.

Commercial hire

Developing and managing external hire arrangements - including pricing, contracts and client relationships. Generating income from fleet assets not in active use.

Reporting

Reporting Monitoring fleet costs, utilisation rates, and hire revenue Reporting on performance to management.

Systems

Maintaining accurate fleet records and working with our existing fleet and project systems.

About you

We're after someone with proven experience managing a mixed fleet of vehicles and equipment, ideally within construction, energy, or a related industry. Experience commercialising fleet assets through external hire, or a strong understanding of the plant and equipment hire market, will be highly regarded. You'll be commercially minded, organised, and comfortable managing both the operational and revenue generating sides of the role.

Experience with fleet management systems is advantageous but not necessary.
