Job summary

Bolton Clarke is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to lead the day-to-day operation and strategic direction of our fleet across Australia. You will oversee fleet administration, insurance management, compliance programs, supplier relationships and vehicle procurement to support frontline teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing large, complex vehicle fleets across multiple sites, regions or states.
• Proven ability to develop fleet governance and lifecycle management programs.
• Strong supplier management, contract negotiation and tender management experience.
• Analytical capability with fleet data to improve utilisation, performance and cost outcomes.
• Proven ability to influence and engage a broad range of stakeholders from frontline staff to senior leaders.
• Excellent communication skills and sound judgement in complex stakeholder environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic and operational management of a fleet of ~1,000 vehicles across multiple ownership models and operating environments.
• Develop and continuously improve fleet policies, governance frameworks, compliance programs and operational procedures.
• Manage fleet suppliers and service providers, including contract negotiations, performance reviews, tenders and service delivery outcomes.
• Oversee vehicle procurement, replacement planning, disposals and lifecycle management to optimise value and operational performance.
• Manage fleet insurance programs, claims processes, vehicle incidents and associated risk management activities.
• Analyse fleet performance data including vehicle utilisation, operating costs, driver behaviour and total cost of ownership to support business decisions.
• Coordinate fleet audits, maintain accurate vehicle records and ensure compliance with regulatory, organisational and safety requirements.
• Lead and support a small fleet team while driving continuous improvement across systems, processes and reporting.
• Partner with operational leaders to ensure fleet services meet business requirements while balancing cost, safety and service outcomes.

About the Role

Reporting to the Strategic Procurement Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operation and long-term strategic direction of Bolton Clarke's fleet portfolio.

You’ll oversee fleet administration, insurance management, compliance programs, supplier relationships, vehicle procurement and replacement activities while ensuring fleet operations support the needs of frontline teams across Australia.

Working closely with operational leaders, suppliers and internal stakeholders, you’ll identify opportunities to improve utilisation, strengthen governance, enhance driver accountability and deliver best-practice fleet outcomes.

This role offers a blend of office, supplier and site-based activity, with regular engagement across operations and limited interstate travel.

We're seeking an experienced Fleet Manager who thrives in a complex operational environment and can confidently balance strategic planning with hands‑on fleet management.

You will bring:

• Extensive experience managing large, complex vehicle fleets across multiple sites, regions or states.
• Demonstrated success developing fleet strategy, governance frameworks and lifecycle management programs.
• Strong supplier management, contract negotiation and tender management experience.
• Strong analytical capability with experience using fleet data to improve utilisation, performance and cost outcomes.
• Proven ability to influence and engage a broad range of stakeholders from frontline employees through to senior leaders.
• Excellent communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.
